This winter figure drawing and painting workshop will focus on learning to build a figure composition from short 30 second gestures through ultimately 20 and 40 minute poses. Detailed discussion and practice of proportion, muscle groups, movement, value, expression, balance and action will be experienced in this class. Techniques ranging from pencil, conte, charcoal, ink, and watercolor will be demonstrated. Practice gesture paper will be supplied as well as vine charcoal, ink, and some watercolors. Participants will need an 18×24 sketch pad as well as pencils, and erasers. A more detailed supply list is provided at the first session.
