DESCRIPTION:We begin our time together with a few minutes of intention setting\, self reflection\, and guided breath\, while the remainder of the experience is filled with different sounds and frequencies being introduced in succession. The sounds are created by a variety of overtone-emitting instruments including chimes\, gong\, shruti box\, Quartz crystal singing bowls\, and voice.\nWhen you sink into a Sound Bath and guide your awareness to your listening\, you allow your brain waves to slow\, shifting from a more active state to a deeply relaxed\, dreamlike state. This is the art and practice of deep listening.\nThe sounds introduced during a Sound Bath are an invitation into a deeper state of consciousness\, an opportunity to unplug from external stimuli and to gain perspective on what’s going on within you. SUMMARY:Terpsichorean Notations
DESCRIPTION:Terpsichorean Notations is a multimedia exhibition that combines photography\, painting\, interactive sculpture\, and projections. The exhibition is divided into three sections: Trace Elements\, Synergetics\, and Choreology. This multidisciplinary work delves into the challenge of notating live performances and our limited vocabulary for the most basic form of human communication: physical movement. \nThe artist behind this exhibition\, Chris Harris\, has been choreographing and dancing for over three decades. She is a choreographer\, artistic director\, visual artist\, dancer\, and teacher with interests in math\, science\, data visualization\, and a fascination with how we understand art\, dance\, and the psychology of performance. Workshops accompanying the exhibition will explore improvisational and authentic movement\, as well as the use of notation in choreography. DESCRIPTION:We begin our time together with a few minutes of intention setting\, self reflection\, and guided breath\, while the remainder of the experience is filled with different sounds and frequencies being introduced in succession. The sounds are created by a variety of overtone-emitting instruments including chimes\, gong\, shruti box\, Quartz crystal singing bowls\, and voice.\nWhen you sink into a Sound Bath and guide your awareness to your listening\, you allow your brain waves to slow\, shifting from a more active state to a deeply relaxed\, dreamlike state. This is the art and practice of deep listening.\nThe sounds introduced during a Sound Bath are an invitation into a deeper state of consciousness\, an opportunity to unplug from external stimuli and to gain perspective on what’s going on within you. SUMMARY:Lesly Alvarez-Rivera Fiber’s Capstone Show
DESCRIPTION:This capstone show is meant to capture my journey as an artist that spent so much time making art to please others rather than myself. I am a fairly new artist in fiber works\, with my first introduction to fibers being in my sophomore year at Colorado State University\, but I started as an artist in middle school around 2014. I dug through my thoughts of who I am as a person\, a daughter\, a sister\, a partner\, a Chicana\, and at last — who am I as an artist? Every piece carries my passion for the arts and techniques in fibers\, natural dyes\, embroidery\, and weaving. My show will open on Sunday November 26 and close on Wednesday November 29; the doors will open 5:00 pm through 8:00 pm for those four days!

SUMMARY:Ryan Walters - Printmaking Capstone
DESCRIPTION:This is the capstone show from my time in the printmaking department here at CSU which will consist of some of my favorite prints over the last few years and some of my most recent work. The art included is predominantly made using lithographic\, silk screen\, and relief woodblock techniques. All of my prints are focused around expressing my feelings towards stress\, insecurity\, anxiety\, and other less defined emotions which for me are hard to explain in words. I have fallen in love with the process and product of printmaking ever since discovering the printmaking department at CSU. I find that it has allowed me to develop a graphic style of work that I have always gravitated towards and loved\, and which has driven my lifelong passion for making art and becoming an artist. This show will be open from 2:00pm to 7:00pm on December 13th and 14th and any and all are welcome to stop by!
