DESCRIPTION:* SURVIVAL OF THE MOST FLUID * \nTimes of rapid change like ours require flexibility and the ability to adapt. We’ve seen a technological revolution\, economic\, political\, and a vast enrichment of our intellectual and cultural capital. But we also face unprecedented new dilemmas. We are bombarded daily by a constant stream of information\, and thanks to all our devices (smartphones\, laptops\, tablets… etc.)\, we are in ceaseless contact with dozens or even thousands of other people\, rarely if ever enjoying complete downtime. \nOur brains are information-processors and problem-solving machines\, and certainly\, our analytical skills are crucial to meeting the challenges we face. But even more important is the magic of “elastic thinking”\, which can generate new\, often wild ideas. Some will prove useless\, while others will culminate in innovative solutions required for the problems of modern existence. To succeed\, we need to hone those adopted skills. \nYin Yoga can provide us an opportunity to zone out\, slow down our thoughts and provide answers and solutions to our physical and emotional challenges by a simple and natural process of introspection. \nSometimes the practice of Yin Yoga might result in life-changing realizations and can be quite an emotional experience. \nYin Yoga consists in holding a relaxed posture or passive stretch for typically 3-5 minutes\, exerting positive stress on the subtle body tissues\, as a way to trigger the body’s natural repair response leading to stronger and more supple joints. \nYin Yoga addresses\, in particular\, the “opening” of the restriction or feelings of “tightness” within our fascia or connective tissues\, therefore deeply enhancing the space for the muscles and the joints to move freely with\, plus improving calmness of mind\, relaxation and relief from negative feelings of worry and anxiety. \nIn Yin Yoga we enhance and balance Prana/Chi\, our life force\, and when done in a group we have an opportunity to connect our collective energy in a wonderful spirit of community. \nThrough the practice of Yin Yoga\, the body naturally also increases its production of Hyaluronic Acid. \nHyaluronic Acid is associated with youthfulness in our bodies. \nHyaluronic Acid can attract and bind 1000 times its volume of water allowing our joints and tissues to be hydrated\, lubricated\, spring-like\, and more graceful. \nWe look forward to seeing you at our Donation Based 90 min at Art Lab Fort Collins. \n— presented by Balance Point Studio

DESCRIPTION:— Presented by Ingrid Dittrich\nColorado resembles the city where I was born\, Medellin\, Columbia. Medellin is all about renewable energy\, useful public transportation\, and urban renewal\, including art\, graffiti\, and expressions of color and style. The non-profit Urban Land Institute named Medellin the most innovative city in the world. \nMy home now is Colorado. Watching my girls grow in this beautiful state inspired my art expression through the years. I had the opportunity to meet renewable energy engineers and holistic healers. I respectfully appreciate Marihuana as a powerful healing plant. I began to explore quantum physics which inspired quantum love art. Colorado is to me the state of progress\, creativity\, advancement\, and renewable energy technology\, including the basics and purpose of such environmentally activities like composting! \nMy art is all what Colorado presents to me\, is my home\, and the home of so many that make this the sweetest place on earth. I honor with my art all that Colorado is and will be\, with every idea and love in every single brush stroke in the name of all the diverse people that work and serve for the good of all.

DESCRIPTION:Two Lane Past is a series of personal postcards of the thousands of miles I’ve spent exploring two lane backroads of the west. This collection is a rest stop on this continuing journey. \nMy background started in traditional illustration and painting. I tend to see an image as a painting. Each image is paired with quotes or lyrics fitting the image. I share my observations and background. of each image.\nToday digital photography and illustration allow me to shape an image to fit my emotional response to a scene. The image may have little additional adjustment\, or the story develops intricate adjustment\, layers and multiple exposures. \nArt is really a journey of awareness and exploration. Georgia O’Keeffe defined the path of an artist with a quote that I often reference.\n“Whether you succeed or not is irrelevant\, there is no such thing. Making your unknown known is the important thing.”

DESCRIPTION:This winter figure drawing and painting workshop will focus on learning to build a figure composition from short 30 second gestures through ultimately 20 and 40 minute poses. Detailed discussion and practice of proportion\, muscle groups\, movement\, value\, expression\, balance and action will be experienced in this class. Techniques ranging from pencil\, conte\, charcoal\, ink\, and watercolor will be demonstrated. Practice gesture paper will be supplied as well as vine charcoal\, ink\, and some watercolors. Participants will need an 18×24 sketch pad as well as pencils\, and erasers.
