SUMMARY:Lesly Alvarez-Rivera Fiber’s Capstone Show
DESCRIPTION:This capstone show is meant to capture my journey as an artist that spent so much time making art to please others rather than myself. I am a fairly new artist in fiber works\, with my first introduction to fibers being in my sophomore year at Colorado State University\, but I started as an artist in middle school around 2014. I dug through my thoughts of who I am as a person\, a daughter\, a sister\, a partner\, a Chicana\, and at last — who am I as an artist? Every piece carries my passion for the arts and techniques in fibers\, natural dyes\, embroidery\, and weaving. My show will open on Sunday November 26 and close on Wednesday November 29; the doors will open 5:00 pm through 8:00 pm for those four days!

SUMMARY:Ryan Walters - Printmaking Capstone
DESCRIPTION:This is the capstone show from my time in the printmaking department here at CSU which will consist of some of my favorite prints over the last few years and some of my most recent work. The art included is predominantly made using lithographic\, silk screen\, and relief woodblock techniques. All of my prints are focused around expressing my feelings towards stress\, insecurity\, anxiety\, and other less defined emotions which for me are hard to explain in words. I have fallen in love with the process and product of printmaking ever since discovering the printmaking department at CSU. I find that it has allowed me to develop a graphic style of work that I have always gravitated towards and loved\, and which has driven my lifelong passion for making art and becoming an artist. This show will be open from 2:00pm to 7:00pm on December 13th and 14th and any and all are welcome to stop by!

DESCRIPTION:Over the past four years I have worked through Colorado State’s drawing program\, integrating other processes and ideas into my core drawing practice. This show is a culmination of my experience and learning\, while by no means the final chapter of my artistic career\, a sort of conclusion to this stage. I invite you to observe\, critique\, and explore my recent work that constitutes the capstone of my degree. I’ll be showing work made within the past year\, drawings that strive to capture truth\, emotion\, and occult ideas for the sake of understanding ourselves and the world around us.
