SUMMARY:Terpsichorean Notations
DESCRIPTION:Terpsichorean Notations is a multimedia exhibition that combines photography\, painting\, interactive sculpture\, and projections. The exhibition is divided into three sections: Trace Elements\, Synergetics\, and Choreology. This multidisciplinary work delves into the challenge of notating live performances and our limited vocabulary for the most basic form of human communication: physical movement. \nThe artist behind this exhibition\, Chris Harris\, has been choreographing and dancing for over three decades. She is a choreographer\, artistic director\, visual artist\, dancer\, and teacher with interests in math\, science\, data visualization\, and a fascination with how we understand art\, dance\, and the psychology of performance. Workshops accompanying the exhibition will explore improvisational and authentic movement\, as well as the use of notation in choreography.
