SUMMARY:Domestic Bliss
DESCRIPTION:I’m a mixed media artist planning a collaboration of art/poetry show with well known Fort Collins poet\, Kathleen Willard. The working title is “Domestic Bliss” and will feature the concept of “Women’s Work” and the domestic roles women have historically taken on.\nThe show will consist of mixed media 2D and 3D artworks with an emphasis on embroidery and other surface design techniques sewn on upcycled linens\, books\, thread\, and found objects. Phrases from Kathleen Willard’s poetry will embellish the artwork. The complete poems will be transcribed by a calligraphy artist and be featured in the show. \nWe will have poetry and art workshops on Saturday and Sunday inspired by the show and will include poetry writing\, book making\, and visible mending. \n09/06: Opening and Poetry Reading 6-10 PM \n09/07  & 09/08: Poetry & Art Workshops 9-5 PM \n
