RJ Mello uses acrylic on canvas to incorporate the characteristics of voodoo practice, music expression, and vibrant colors to capture life in the Jazz era of New Orleans. The artist drew in her own personal experience in Louisiana which specifically inspired the color choices as well as the use of street lamps and music.
