Two Lane Past

Two Lane Past is a series of personal postcards of the thousands of miles I’ve spent exploring two lane backroads of the west. This collection is a rest stop on this continuing journey.
My background started in traditional illustration and painting. I tend to see an image as a painting. Each image is paired with quotes or lyrics fitting the image. I share my observations and background. of each image.
Today digital photography and illustration allow me to shape an image to fit my emotional response to a scene. The image may have little additional adjustment, or the story develops intricate adjustment, layers and multiple exposures.
Art is really a journey of awareness and exploration. Georgia O’Keeffe defined the path of an artist with a quote that I often reference.
“Whether you succeed or not is irrelevant, there is no such thing. Making your unknown known is the important thing.”
