What is a print, and why should you care?
Because Northern Colorado is chock full of creative souls who just love putting ink on paper, and they are bringing their craft to Art Lab Fort Collins.
This weekend we’ll be hanging prints by local artists as a kind of pre-show and call for entries for the upcoming hands-on exhibition planned for the last two weeks in September. (Translation: we had two open weekends and we needed art on the walls, pronto, so I called a few friends.) In a matter of days we rounded up art from 10 local printmakers, and we had ourselves the beginnings of a printmaking show.
Fri., July 16 & 23, 6 to 9pm
Sat., July 17 & 24, Noon to 6pm

Call For Entries :: Proof No. 1 Official Big Ol’ Show

Art Lab is looking for more printmakers to help us turn Art Lab into an interactive printmaking experience for the official Proof No. 1 exhibition. If you have art to share, we need you (and your art).
There will be hands-on printing experiences both weekends, including real live letterpress, etching and screen printing demos. And, there will be public access to printmaking equipment so anyone can join the fun.
To be a part of the show, please email samples of your work to [email protected]. The plan is to make this the first of many local printmaking shows in Northern Colorado. The emphasis of this show will be contemporary artwork printed on nice, old, chunky equipment. Gotta love it.
