Workshop for children ages 3-6, 8:30am-12:30pm
At Playcrafter Kids’ half-day summer camps, every week is a new themed adventure for the itsy bitsies! With a 1:8 teaching artist/student ratio, children will explore the arts through guided activities in a playful and structured environment where imagination, wonder, creativity, and curiosity come alive. Playcrafter Kids’ camps are rooted in musical theater with activities that promote life skills such as confidence, emotional regulation, self awareness, teamwork and collaboration.
May 20-23: Pete the Cat
Pete the Cat is so cool! With his catchy songs, silly stories, and positive thinking, he teaches us “to keep walking along and singing your song, because it’s all good.” This 4-day camp is sure to be a rockin’ good time exploring the art and story by James Dean and Eric Litwin!
May 28-30: Happy Campers
We love greeting Happy Campers to this nature based camp. Infused with summer camp songs, rituals and games, this 3-day camp will tickle the environmentalist inside us all!
June 10-14: If You Give a…Kid a Stage!
The creative children’s book and now Netflix show series, If You Give a.., created by Laura Numeroff inspires this week of musical and dramatic play. Each day we will dig into a different story (e.g. If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, If You Give a Pig a Pancake, etc.) to come up with our own original story to perform for family and friends!
June 17-21: Piggie & Gerald Party
This pigtastic party will last the whole camp week! Inspired by the clever children’s books by Mo Willems’, many storybook friends such as Piggie & Gerald, the Pigeon, Knuffle Bunny and more will visit to encourage the little performers to use their voice, body and creativity in big ways. A playful week indeed!
July 15-19: Circus Play
Itsy Bitsy Performers will have the chance to put on their very own Playcrafter Kids Circus with “lions,” clowns, acrobats, and more! The week will be full of creative movement ACTivities while enjoying circus related literature, music, and dramatics.
July 22-26: Butterflies & Bugs
Explore some of nature’s smallest and most magical creatures with musically engaging STEAM* ACTivities. A special week in collaboration with Playcrafter Kids’ first original musical for Itsy Bitsies, The Butterfly Brigade, at the Fort Collins Fringe Festival July 26-28th.
July 29-Aug 2: Once Upon a Time…
This magical fairy tale week will entice the Itsy Bitsy performers to listen, retell and create their our own version of a fairy tale. Each day is devoted to a well known tale such as The Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood, The Little Red Hen, Three Billy Goats Gruff, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, as well as spin-off tales. Where will their imaginations take them?!
