The exhibition will be on display from January 3-13th at the Art Lab. The opening will be on January 4th from 6 to 9 pm.
This is my BFA Thesis work and it’s composed of landscapes of Fort Collins and Loveland. I discover my subject matter by going on long walks in the early morning. I bring a sketchbook and a camera with me and record what I see. When I get back to the studio, I filter through the images and find what interests me the most and then I begin painting.
I’m interested in the early morning, when everything is still, before everyone begins their daily routine. I hope the work preserves a few peaceful moments and provides the viewer with a small break from the ruckus of life.
