Mixology 101 Color Theory

When executing a painting an artist must consider many things; Line, Value, Composition, Perspective and Color. Attempting all of these concepts while creating a full painting can be overwhelming. It is important to study one concept at a time. This is a course in color mixing. Most painting problems and their solutions center around color choices and how they are used. This course introduces the artist to basic color concepts necessary in making decisions that will improve your painting skills. You will also learn to make many colors from a limited full-spectrum palette. Students will create a reference of 500 mixtures that can be hung in the studio to use as a guide as you paint. While there are hundreds of colors premixed in tubes, there never seems to be the exact one you need at the time you need it. The studies created in this course will provide you the depth of knowledge and experience needed to be able to mix almost any color.
