Mixed-media collage combines different art techniques to form a picture or design, held together by a visual theme. Shapes, colors, and lines can be used in unconventional ways in order to express complex and unique ideas. By using paper or other “useful” materials such as fabric, string, cardboard, newspaper, or photographs, mixed-media collage incorporates found objects as readymade art supplies and has become a consistent feature in contemporary art.
Learn basic mixed-media collage techniques through hands-on activities and gain experience working with a wide range of materials commonly found at art supply stores or at home.
